The Community Healthcare Center Endowment Fund at the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation was established by “friends” of the Center. Those friends wanted to make sure there was a “permanent savings account” that would benefit those individuals and families who rely on the medical, dental, diagnostic, and pharmacy services offered.

The official name of the Community Healthcare Center is North Central Texas Community Health Care Center (CHC). CHC was established in 1992 as a 501{c}3 private, nonprofit and charitable organization. CHC is located at 200 MLK Jr. Boulevard in Wichita Falls, TX.

CHC is a family practice medical and dental facility that provides access to high-quality, affordable care for residents of Wichita Falls and surrounding communities. Additional services include a pharmacy for registered patients, laboratory, radiology, educational outreach and a mobile dental clinic.

CHC accepts Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, TRICARE and private insurance. Patients with minimal or no insurance can receive care through a discounted sliding fee scale based on family income and household size. CHC has an additional site located at 1000-A Juarez Street to better serve public housing and the residents of the surrounding area.

CHC was recently recognized for its “Reach Out and Read” program. Children receive books during “well checkups” from their pediatrician at the Center. There are also community volunteers who come on-site to read to the children while they wait for their appointments.
