The River Bend Nature Center Endowment Fund at the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation was established by board action of River Bend Nature Center. The Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation Board of Directors made the initial donation as an honor for John Hirschi, one of the champions of River Bend Nature Center.

River Bend Nature Center (RBNC) in Wichita Falls, Texas is an eighteen acre environmental education center that serves the communities of north Texas and southeastern Oklahoma. Uniquely placed in a conflux of geographical regions, River Bend is dedicated to connecting people to the natural environment of Texas. Through educational activities and events, River Bend promotes the value of environmental awareness and conservation to students, families, and their communities.

RBNC’s most popular attractions are the Ruby N. Priddy Butterfly and Nature Conservatory, the River Bottom Forest Trail, and the United Children’s Garden. Visitors are welcomed every day of the week to enjoy the sun, the clouds, the air, the plants, the birds, and the butterflies by touring the conservatory, walking the trails and gardens, or picnicking under the open air pavilion. There are many ways to explore the Rolling Plains at River Bend Nature Center.
