The 5th Annual Day of Giving on September 10th was a resounding success in Texoma. When time ran out on the 16 hour event, $1,471,388 had been raised to benefit almost 200 nonprofit organizations in the region, including almost $80,000 in prize money provided by generous sponsors.
This year’s event was more important than ever for nonprofits. Many have been forced to cancel in-person fundraising events because of the COVID-19 pandemic. “Our nonprofits have been stretched and stressed to the limit this year,” said Leslie Schaffner, WFACF President. “As needs continue to grow, resources are tighter than ever—with fewer opportunities to raise needed funds. Texoma Gives provides the perfect opportunity for people to support their favorite organizations and causes while also staying safe and distanced.”
Since the first Texoma Gives in 2016, participating organizations have raised over $5.6 million to go back into sustaining critical services for the people of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
