Bridge Builder Legacy Society

The Bridge Builder Legacy Society recognizes generous donors who have entrusted the Community Foundation to steward their charitable assets beyond their lifetime. We work to ensure that each donor’s giving wishes are honored by meeting the needs of the causes they care about most for generations to come.

  • The Community Foundation team will work with you to craft a legacy giving plan that honors your charitable wishes.

  • The Community Foundation will ensure your charitable wishes are met during the present and beyond your lifetime.

  • When a fund agreement is established, it may be amended at any time without cost.
  • Legacy gifts offer continued support for the community and causes that you love.

  • The Community Foundation will work to grow assets over time through well advised stewardship.

  • Unrestricted legacy gifts are strengthened by other Community Foundation funds, which amplifies the difference that can be made in Wichita Falls and surrounding areas.

Types of Legacy Gifts

Bequests

A charitable bequest combines philanthropy and tax benefits. Bequests can be a specific dollar amount, percentage of an estate, or what remains after debts, expenses, and other bequests are made. Bequests can be made by naming the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation in your will or trust.

Charitable Remainder Trust

Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRT) are ideal for donors with appreciated assets, including real estate and securities. CRTs have potential for growth, allowing beneficiaries to receive income to support the donor’s charitable interests.

Life Insurance

Life insurance can be used for charitable giving by naming the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation as the beneficiary of part or all of the insurance proceeds.

Retirement Fund Assets

Since retirement fund assets are heavily taxed, qualified retirement plans or IRAs can be a tax-efficient part of your estate planning strategy, leaving more funds available for charitable giving.
