With a bold vision to transform this community, Robert Priddy believed charitable giving must be the responsibility of many, not only a select few. In March of 1999, Robert Priddy and a group of fellow civic leaders in Wichita Falls, Texas, founded the Wichita Falls Area Community Foundation (WFACF), bringing Mr. Priddy’s vision to life. WFACF founders sought to establish a collection of charitable funds supported by generous community members to meet the ever-changing needs in our region.

For over 25 years, the Community Foundation has remained committed to leaving a legacy for future generations by promoting philanthropy, providing charitable opportunities, and facilitating donors’ interests. We work alongside donors and community partners to help meet area needs, create solutions, and inspire action to build a vibrant community today and a stronger community for tomorrow.

Giving through the Community Foundation has touched thousands of lives across the region through charitable funds, grant and scholarship programs, and the only giving day in our area!

  • We are home to over 300 active charitable funds, facilitating over $130 Million in grants.
  • We champion education and work closely with generous donors to award over $700,000 annually to students through our robust scholarship program.
  • Over $350,000 in grants are awarded annually to strengthen nonprofits in the region through the Fund for the Wichita Falls Area Annual Grant Cycle.
  • Since 2006, over $2.5M has been provided in lifesaving equipment for Texas and Oklahoma fire departments through the Volunteer Fire Department Fund.
  • In 2016, WFACF solidified its position as a philanthropic leader with the launch of Texoma Gives. This annual giving day served as a platform to help local nonprofits raise over $14 million in ten years.
